Chevrolet Shuts Down 2013 Corvette Production
March 26 2019, Automobiles Paille Inc.
Even though we are still in the early part of 2013, production for the 2013 Chevrolet Corvette recently ceased. The final model rolled off the assembly line at 8:04 a.m. on February 28 to make way for the new generation of the Corvette.
The last sixth generation Chevrolet Corvette that was produced is an Arctic White version with a 60th Anniversary design package. The interior is decked out in Blue Diamond leather with suede-microfiber accents. Under the hood, you will find a 7.0-liter (427 ci) LS7 aluminum-block V8. This marvel was handcrafted at the GM Performance Build Center by Corvette executive chief engineer Tadge Juechter. The aggressive powertrain produces 505 horsepower and 470 lb.-ft. of torque.
The seventh-generation Corvette made its debut at the North American International Auto Show, and production will begin shortly on the same assembly line as the C6. Actually, the minute the last C6 came off the assembly line, arrangements for the C7 production began. Dave Tatma, the plant manager at the Bowling Green manufacturing facility stated that employees began the process of installing new tools at once.
The changeover process is expected to last until the end of March since new machinery is being installed. Once the production of the C7 begins, the workers will have to train for the new manufacturing process involved in producing the all-new Chevrolet Corvette.
Automobiles Paillé Inc. will keep you posted with regards to the production of first 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray and when we expect to see it in our showroom located at 700, av. Gilles-Villeneuve, Berthierville, QC J0K 1A0. The moment we hear about it, we'll be sure to pass the details along to you via our Chevrolet blog.
